Kenya--Sights and Feel

"Miracles: You don't have to look for them. They are there, 24-7, beaming like radio waves all around you. Put up the antenna, turn up the volume -snap...crackle...this just in, every person you talk to is a chance to change the world." -Hugh Elliott

Learn more about Bernard and his story here:
Bernard lost his father (in portrait above) and mother from AIDS when he was a teenager. Left to survive on his own, education proved to be the key to not only his survival but to his success in life, as well. Bernard has beaten all odds. Bernard is a wonderful example to me.

getting schooled at soccer...most surely one of the funnest things I've ever done. We need to get these children a formal soccer league in Kenya. We're working on that with GOmentoring. We're setting up some programs to have mentors set up sports leagues for disenfranchised youth.

Masai warrior. Awesome guys! We have a lot to learn from their way of life. The hat he's wearing is actually a lion's mane. It is tradition that in order to become a Masai warrior, you must go out into the bush for two months and survive off of the land. When the two months are over, you need to come back with proof that you have killed a lion. This guy brought back this hat and let me wear it. As cool as that sounds, too many lions are dying, which isn't very cool. But, these guys were studs nonetheless
